VHS, Tamagotchi, Bel Air: Age of the 90s
VHS Tapes, Top of the Pops, Tamagotchi, Sea Monkeys, Parachute Pants... Now that I have your attention.
The 90s has a pickin' mix of opinions for the musical taste of that era but love it or hate it, there is no denying the sparkle provided by LEGENDS such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Dolly Parton... to name a few. Not only did the 90s pave the way for colorful beats and the introduction of parachute pants but we also got one of the best TV shows of all time in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" (is anyone else excited for the upcoming season of BEL-AIR)
All my fellow 90s babies we are the last generation to have printed photographs, with a reel life disposable camera, feel old yet? We watched films on VHS and had to write exams without google (tough times!) the 90s was the birth of one of the best drunken night karaoke songs of all time 'I Will Always Love You' and the sing into your hairbrush microphone track 'Hit me Baby One More Time' but most importantly ladies and gentlemen it introduced the 'Macarena' need I say more... (mic drop)
We have compiled a list of artists giving us all the 90's feels right now, so grab your hairbrushes and let's go on this journey together!
Jiu Ling
Singer-Songwriter and server of R&B realness, literally giving us all the VIBES listening to her silky smooth track N2M2H and for those in the back I would like to emphasize that this is a TUNE with a capital T. If you are looking for soul that serenades smoothly then this is your GAL.
Kamille
Singer-Songwriter and Music Producing sensation, a talent working with the likes of Little Mix, Dua Lipa, and Lotto Boyz needless to say she knows her GAME. Her lush vocals laced with infectious beats make us reminisce over the days of Spice Girls, evoking all the spice and feminine fierceness that lands itself on that Monday morning playlist.
Kadeem Tyrell
Singer-Songwriter and Activist, painting over music with a brush exuding soul. We pronounce that his track "How it Feels" is a soul giver and isolation mood setter (can't argue with that) His vocals imbue the Boyz to Men TBT with enough flare and ease to sail through the sour notes of daily adulting.
